A comment was posted on our Facebook page yesterday about MLB 14 The Show not being available when Sony said it would. The game was supposed to be available at 12:01 a.m. and at the time of the post later in the day the game was still not available. This made me think about the digital gaming world we live in and how we used to rush to stores to buy the games we were salivating to get our hands on! So is it the end of the world that you couldn’t download your game at 12:01 a.m.? Am I crazy for thinking that someone shouldn’t be upset because they couldn’t get the game they pre-ordered right away? Well I thought maybe I would throw out my opinion to you digital-gamingguys and see if I am the crazy person here.

You wake up early in the morning to download the much anticipated game you have been waiting to play, you turn on your PS4 go to the store and try to begin your download but are met with an error. Sorry this is not available at this time. Well damn! I guess I will try later… 7-8 hours and 10 or so tries later I still can’t download my game that I pre-ordered and at this point I am sure most of the people that are in my shoes are wishing they got the physical media. This has clearly not happened to me yet but it did to a few of our community members.

At this point you take to the Sony PlayStation Blog for an explanation but are met with nothing! No answer from Sony on their twitter page and no answer on the game announcement page. Does this warrant you to be filled with rage? I digital_person_thumbsay No! I say get over it. This is the world we live in now, and with digital gaming we have to expect that this problem can happen. There is no difference between Sony’s delay and Fed Ex or UPS not getting you your package on time. It was just a few hours late and you will survive. The few hours you had to wait for your game to go live will be forgotten about within a week when you get your hands on it and start playing it. I just think people need to calm down, give them time to iron this all out and get us the products we pay for. I am sure all of this will be worth it in the end.
