PS-Plus2

It looks like Sony is at it again with a great line up of new games for PlayStation Plus subscribers this month.  If you are already a member, then you already know that each month seeks to satisfy gamers worldwide. We get to see a new selection of six titles join this month, ranging from the carefree and happy go lucky nature of fun, to the downright terrifying horrors of your nightmares.  Needless to say, as if PlayStation Plus wasn’t already such a fantastic deal for the $49.99 price tag,  let’s take a look at North America’s February update for your Instant Game Collection.

Kicking off our line up is developer Red Barrels’s horror and nightmare inducing Outlast coming to PlayStation 4.  In this first-person survival horror game, you take control of Miles Upshur, a freelance journalist who receives an intriguing tip from an anonymous source about the psychiatric hospital; Mount Massive Asylum.  What awaits you inside the asylum is something straight out of a Clive Barker novel.  Prepare to change your pants a few times with this one people, it’s going to be one hell of a horrifying experience.

Next up, we have three titles for all you PS3 owners out there who manage to pull yourselves away from your shiny new PS4 or other games on your plate.  First of the three is the post-apocalyptic shooter,  Metro: Last Light.   Set in the year 2034 beneath the metro tunnels of a now destroyed Moscow,  survival is your only goal.  The remnants of mankind are besieged by deadly threats from outside – and within.  Mutants stalk the catacombs beneath the desolate surface,  and hunt amidst the poisonous irradiated skies above.

Our second free PS3 title of the month is Capcom’s new IP that takes the 3rd person genre and sets it in a sci-fi futuristic Neo-Paris in the year 2084.  Personal memories can now be digitized, bought, sold and traded.  The last remnants of privacy and intimacy have been swept away in what appears to be a logical progression of the explosive growth of social networks at the beginning of the 21st century.  Remember Me is a 3rd person action adventure where players take on the role of Nilin, a former elite memory hunter with the ability to break into people’s minds and steal or even alter their memories.

To wrap up our PS3 games is the action-packed,  four-player co-op shooter,  PAYDAY 2.   Gamers don the masks of the original PAYDAY crew – Dallas, Hoxton, Wolf and Chains – as they descend on Washington D.C. for an epic crime spree.

Jumping into the final category of free games,  is the PlayStation Vita with two games for all to scoop up.  If you enjoyed (or have never played) ModNation Racers in its PS3 form,  then look no further for a pretty solid – and portable – kart racer with ModNation Racers: Road Trip.  For all you creative types,  the possibilities are endless when you can create your own karts,  tracks,  and racer!  Whether you race for the fastest time, customize everything to your own liking,  ModNation Racers gives you everything you need for your next “Road Trip!”.
