Developers of Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, 38 Studios, could be relaunching, according to a new post on their website. Another post states that “if you are looking for 38 Studios as it relates to Curt Shilling, Project Copernicus, or Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning.  I’m sad to say they no longer exist.” This could suggest that they are relaunching as a completely new studio, and may not be related to the past projects of the developer.

The developer, founded by baseball pitcher Curt Schilling, went bankrupt last year after failing to pay back a loan to the state of Rhode Island. Their only completed game, Kingdoms of Amalur, received mixed reviews. The studio was in the process of creating a MMORPG codenamed Project Copernicus.
