If you’re like me, on launch day you frantically combed through the Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate manual searching for a method to access the 3DS’ online mode and / or how to transfer your saves from the Wii U to the 3DS.

FEAR NOT!!! Per Capcom, the Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate Data Transfer Program as well as the Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate Packet Relay Tools are both allegedly coming to the North American Nintendo eShop on Friday 3/21/13.

The Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate Data Transfer Program is for the diehard fans who own both Wii U and 3DS versions of the game.  It will allow players to transfer their saves from one console to the other giving the player the ability to take their quests with them.

The Packet Relay Tool will allow a 3DS player online access while playing Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate.  This tool uses a Wii U console’s Internet connection to connect to online games hosted by Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate players using the Wii U version of the game.  Confused yet?

Important notes concerning the Packet Relay Tool:

  • The Wii U’s Internet connection CAN NOT be wireless.  In order to utilize the Packet Relay Tool, you MUST use a Wii LAN Adapter or Wii U LAN Adapter to connect to the internet.
  • A Wii U copy of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is NOT necessary to play the 3DS online using the Packet Relay Tool
  • If you have both Wii U and the 3DS version of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate you will NOT be able to play online with both versions of the game at the same time using the Packet Relay Tool as the Wii U is exclusively providing an Internet connection and will not be available to run additional software.

Hope this helps.

Happy Hunting!!!
